A change at school.

Today I found out Lindsay will be getting a new buddy. At our school the class rooms have buddies in different grades. The Kinders usually get paired with either a fourth or fifth grader. It is a way of introducing the kids to other kids at the school and cuts down on the little kids being afraid of the older kids at school. They make a big deal about how the little kids look up the older kids and how important it is for them to look out for them on the playground. Well, Lindsay hasn't been getting along with her buddy. I don't think her buddy really understood how to deal with her and alternated between trying to do everything for her and telling her what to do. Even with the teachers trying to help it wasn't working. As nice as this girl is I didn't think it was going to work back in September. We've known her since 2nd grade and she has always tried to treat Lindsay like a little doll which does not sit well with her at all. The girl she is going to be placed with now is very nice and seems to get Lindsay more. Lindsay says she "listens to me and doesn't boss me around." I just hope this works out better.

Her first buddies time with her new buddy went very well. She came home and told me that the girl was very nice and they worked together as a team on their project which made her very happy. Her teacher said it went very well and that she is glad Lindsay is happier.

I hope this continues.

It sounds like the new girl is working well with her.
