Do you participate in any sort of "extra curricular activies" (ECA) on a regular basis?

My only source of ECA is using the treadmill or stair climber after the kids go to bed at night.

A guy I work with teaches yoga classes every Thursday night and invited me to check it out. It's something he does for free at his synagogue. I was talking to DH about doing this (and he was absolutely fine with it) and DD overheard us. She started "crying" that she didn't want me to leave her. Ugh!! I guess this is one more reason why I need to have some ECA. Can't do it tonight or next week, but I'm seriously going to check it out.

What do you do for some ECA??

I just gave up playing Bunco, that was fun. I take kid-free walks, sometimes alone sometimes with friends. I try for some kid free library time. That's about it for now. Plus I have RCIA once a week till Easter. I may take a class next fall at the Rec Center.

Absolutely nothing. I was doing Cardio Kickboxing but that was over a year ago, left that because everyone was sick one week or another and the it was dh's turn and I can't leave a sick "baby" with 3 sick babies LOL. I'd like to take a couple days a month though to go out with the girls - maybe for a drink on a Friday night, and was thinking a day spa thing over vacation week. Otherwise I'd love to find something on a regular basis.

I'll go running in the mornings before my girls wake up on the weekend but other than that "me" time is rare. But when I get it, I usually spend it cleaning the house or ordering stuff on the net.

I'm in two book groups that meet in the evening. For one of them, we meet at someone's house, but for the other, we go out to dinner! It's a treat. I keep promising myself I'll do something "just for me" during Carl's school time, but I end up cleaning house, running errands, and other neccesaries instead. I go to an exercise class in the early morning before DS is up, so I don't think that counts as extra-curricular. I'd actually like my husband to get involved in something, as all he does is work, family stuff, and house maintenance.

I took a yoga class a few months ago and I just signed up for aerobics with a friend of mine. It is an ideal situation since It is for 5 months and you can go to any of their classes, so I am not tied to only one evening since stuff always comes up and DH never knows when he will get off work. My DD doesn't want me to go either and has cried, but is always fine after I leave. I say go for it!

I go to the gym while DS is in school, and also a bible study class which is mainly mommies looking to have something to talk about OTHER than our kids, LOL! I was going to a book group too but that went by the wayside as one of the women who was there is absolutely bizarre, so it kind of defeats the relaxation purpose! She's not a regular, apparently, so I may join back up if she fails to show up for future ones. I do school field trips as often as possible, but I don't know if that qualifies as an extracurricular, really! ;-)

Hmm..well, there's the jamming with the band but that certainly hasn't been on a regular basis...there's little hobbies here and there but nothing outside the home. Not long ago I was taking water aerobics and weight training...sounds like I need something. Xan's tkd school is offering parent free 4 weeks plus uniform, very interested but 1) the adult classes don't jell with Xan's schedule, and 2) I want Xan to have something he can call his own, something he does without Mom (even tho I practice with him).

I don't really do anything on a regular basis, but I do volunteer with our Navy housing/resource center every once in a while. Right now, I am in the midst of organizing a housing-wide paperback book collection so we can donate them to the American Legion (they collect paperback books to send overseas to the troops).

Other than that, tho, I take any "free" time I may come across to simply relax and enjoy "Me Time." I'll read, watch whatever *I* want (NO cartoons!!!), or anything like that.
