I read this post a while ago and started to pay more attention to what my kids eat. We get in about 4 fruits and veggies a day. They get at least one fruit or veggie with every meal and their morning juice is veggie fruit combo. DH is really strict about juice only once a day and no fruit only .

That's great! It sounds like your children are getting a good amount each day. What kind of juice do you serve them? My son really enjoys the V8 Splash and I like that it has servings of fruits & veggies in them.

Fruitables. My son like the orange one and my daughter likes the berry one. One has 11 grams sugar and the other has 14 grams.
We try to keep sugar in check here. My kids are high energy without the sugar.

I have been very lucky so far. Both my kids are veggie FIENDS. They seriously can't get enough! I have to watch them at mealtimes to make sure they actually take in some protein, because they'll devour platefuls of green beans, asparagus, or carrots without touching the chicken I fixed. My four-year-old DD is getting better about that now, but little DS will toss his rice or steak on the floor and refuse anything but veggies. It's crazy. I have no idea where they get it from, because it sure ain't me.

Fruit is another matter. They both hated anything fruity until they were over a year old. No juice, no peach purees, nothing. Now they both like applesauce and most berries, and they'll drink the fruit smoothies DH makes sometimes. That, they probably get from me, since I'm not a fruit person at all. It tastes good, but fresh fruit makes me feel sick for some reason.

But veggies . . . bring them on!!
