Halloween at school?

My boys' schools do not celebrate Halloween.  Instead they have "harvest parties" with no costumes allowed.  How do things work in your neck of the woods?  Are your children invited to celebrate with a Halloween party?

I have a 4 y/o in pre-k and they are having a Halloween party and dressing  up in their costumes and doing a little parade around the area. They went pumpkin picking and have been doing a lot of Halloween related activites these past 2 weeks.

I was just talking about that with my other mommy group yesterday. Emma's school (1st grade) still has Halloween parties and they wear their costume the entire day, which I think is a bit much, and probably pretty darn distracting. The room mom is going way over the top with the class party IMO, but oh well. madison's daycare does a pumpkin party and they have PJ day, some do come in costumes, but the majority of them come in PJ's, which I love the idea of.
