Hello and welcome to the board!

Birthday parties are so much fun but they do take a bit of time to plan and the expenses can add up quickly! The Walmart in our area has really expanded its birthday party items so I'm sure going there would be great. What I usually do is allow the birthday child to pick out the theme (Walmart has a ton- probably close to 20!) and then we buy some of the decorations from the theme. The rest (crepe paper, balloons, etc) I just buy solid coordinating colors. Walmart also has a large selection of cake decorations too so you should be able to get most of what you need there! I also like classic games for parties- musical chairs, scavenger hunts, balloon relays, etc. The kids always have fun with them and they are super cheap and easy to put together.
