This new format is a joke..............

I don't know what you people were thinking but this is awful, Hard to follow, lots more clicking and lots more time.... (that we don't have)

I say we go back to the old boards, it was so much easier. Anyone else want to cast a vote? Don't know if I have time for this, so probably won't be back much.

I completely agree with all of the above! Can't understand why the changes were made, don't like 'em, everything is slower, very frustrating.

I don't like this "your message will be posted soon". Just seems like there are too many steps.

You know this point I soooo agree!

The last time I was on was on Tues and it was same ole same ole. Check in today and OMG! What is this format? It took me at least 5 times longer to open a post and I'm on a CABLE MODEM!!!!!

I vote for not fixing something that ain't broke too!

Unfortunately, it *was* broke. Simply put, we've outgrown HyperNews, our old message board platform. We needed to upgrade our message board technology and functionality to better accommodate the increase in iVillage's traffic and the number of board archives.

Believe me, it is taking everything for me to keep my head above water with the way the format is and when they first showed the CL's, I FREAKED! But then I realized that I just cannot up and leave the wonderful ladies I have bonded with through the years at PS. I am also grateful ivillage HAS offered us their site free of charge for so many years and been responsible for keeping my online buddies together.

Please know that the techs are doing everything they can to tweak the system. They are listening to members' complaints and suggestions. Things were very slow yesterday because of some of that tweaking.

I hope we don't lose any members over the format. You ladies have worked so hard to build a wonderful community here.

While at the moment I'm not a big fan of the new boards, I think anything so radically different takes time to adjust to. I remember the boards when they were just ParentSoup & not part of iVillage & that switchover had its own share of problems.

I have to agree all the pop-up windows are annoying but perhaps once you get use to everything moving around will be easier & faster. And from what I hear from all the CL's there were problems w/the old message boards. I'm not trying to start anything but I think patience is required here; maybe try these new boards out & in a few weeks decide if you still want to hang out here. After all I'd hate to think a little thing like the board format would prevent my cyberbuddies from keeping in touch w/me and vice versa.

I am also frustrated! Is there a way to view more than one message at a time? I used to be able to type ?embed=all and view all responses. HELP!

I agree! I really dislike this new format. I've questioned the Ivillage people about it and it sounds like it, or a version of it, is going to stay simply because the old format was at capacity. It wasn't doing what people wanted it to do. Personally, I liked the old was very much more user friendly and easier on the eyes!

I also don't like this new format, it's very cumbersome. I hate not being able to see all the posts at once and having to open several windows to be able to read posts and replies. It takes a long time for me to see anything at work...I haven't even posted here that much b/c I haven't had the time to deal with it!

No, there isn't. Actually the loss of the Embed feature was a MAJOR gribe for many CL's. What we were told was that the Embed feature was originally designed as a Tech Tool and not meant for general use. Whooops. They said that using the tool put a lot of strain on the server.
