hello!! i dont do themes for my girls bday parties. i do buy them the kind of cake they want with whatever character they want-but i dont buy the plates and cups and everything to go with the cake. i just think its a big waste of money. my 4 yo was thrilled with the generic balloons and streamers at her last party-she had a backyardigans cake, but the rest of the party didnt have a theme. thats just us though!!

My daughter loves horseback riding, so for her 5th birthday we had a horse theme with straw coyboy hats for everyone. One of my friends has several ponies, so she brought them over for pony rides. We bbq'd dogs and the kids had a blast.

I have always got my kids the themed cake, and everything to go with it for their birthdays, ever since my 9 yr old twins' first birthday. I always let them pick out what they want.

When my dd turned 4 last year, she wanted Spongebob, this year she really likes the Disney Princess stuff, so we'll probably go with that. She won't be 5 until October though, so we'll see.
