Preschool Issues

Landon loves preschool... just too much.  He's so excited at school and has the hardest time calming down during their activity at school.  Because of that, he's been in trouble every day lately (he's had to move his froggy, which is their behavior management system in the classroom).  Honestly, I think he's just overstimulated.  He just started preschool in January and prior to that he was home alone with me during the day.  Putting him in a classroom filled with 14 other 4 year olds has just been a lot for him to take in.  His teacher said he isn't naughty, but they just can't get him to calm down.

Any suggestions on how to handle this at home? Will this just be something that improves with maturity and more time/experience in the classroom?

I wouldn't worry a whole lot, it'll take him a bit to settle into things.  Did you explain to his teacher has hasn't been in a classroom setting with so many other kids before?  If the teacher knows that, maybe she can better anticipate some areas where she can help him.  She may need to give him things to do that will keep him a little more focused or on task during the day.

I agree with you, since the kid has not been in with so many kids before he gets too excited. I am sure that over a period of time he would get used to it and stay calm like the others even with them.
