reality show idea...SCHOOL HUNTERS

You know like those house hunters shows. Urgh in the middle of searching for a preschool or private kindy for my 4 year next year.

So there is the one that he really liked but I have to start paying in March while he doesn't start until September so thats 2 child cares for 1 kid plus its a Catholic school and I am not Catholic, but its on the lower end of price (although with after school we need its a bit more) and its sort of on route to older DS school. Since I don't drive that can be an issue but they have early drop off...for a few of course.

Next up one that averages out to same cost as Catholic school but oposite direction as older DS school and 10 hour max day would make it nearly impossible for us to do drop and pick up of both kids and to be honest wasn't all that impressed and he wasn't eventhough his cousin goes there. AND the day we toured there was a pest control guy checking things out. OK to be honest that doesn't phase me, we have issues at home with mice as we live in front of a cemetary and they have a vacant field plus train tracks near by but still thinking might not be a visit you want whole school is in session or parents touring expecially since they take 6weeks to 6 year old. there was an expecant couple and they have non to pleased look on phase when they say the guy.

Third one I haven't actually toured yet. Called them yesterday. Its down the street from older DS school. Literally can just about see it from the school yard, so pick up and drop off will be great. Its a montosuri and sounds wonderful and  they offer all these extra curriculars for the extended hours. Karate, dance, violin...well of course these all add up and for a full day its going to cost $100 more then other 2. I called a few others too that are in that high price range.

So have a call out to a place we tried last fall. To be honest was not impressed was told her were 3rd on list would here from her by a certain day if not call and I did TWICE and not even a courtesy call back but at this point I am desperate!!! they are cheap and down the street from my house!! Giving her until Friday and then its time to decide.

Catholic school he loves that I need to pay in advance, affordable Y program that isn't all that schedule friendly or overpriced Montosuri school that is close to older DS school...whcih will we choose?!?!

Oh and I should add current sitter throwing wrenth in plan. She takes 2 weeks off in august but daughter is pregnant so can't plan which 2 weeks those are as is taking when she had the baby "I know you all being mom's and dad's get that babies come when they come" yah but my work is understanding if I WAS pregnant NOT for YOUR granddaughter, heck if you worked here they wouldn't be understanding. I need to put in vacation requests at LEAST 2 week prior for more then a day or so. So 2 of three options can move him in August but top choice the catholic school can't!!

You should totally pitch that idea! It reminds me of the documentary I saw called " Nursery University" :

Ugh, Heidi. It doesn't sound like any of the options are perfect.  The spendier of the options sounds best to me but I understand how finances are an issue (boy, do I know!).  Would the difference in cost make up for the frustration/rush/gas you'd have if you went with one of the other options? Such a hard decision!

Ugh. wish I had some helpful advice for you, but none here at all.  Why do you have to start paying in March at the Catholic one, to hold your spot or to lessen out the payments in the long run?
