Still taking naps?

I'm just curious as to when everyone's kiddos stopped taking naps.  Landon is 4 and it seems like he still needs that afternoon nap.  If he doesn't get it, he's a miserable wreck.  It's even causing issues with his afternoon pre-k class (his behavior and inability to listen).  However, on his off days from pre-k, if he naps, he's up forever at night.  It's like a crazy cycle we are in!  When did your children stop taking naps??

My older two were always pretty good about cycling out of naps early. The oldest was done with them completely by age 2, and the middle one pretty much was done with them by age 4. My youngest one, she is a night owl regardless of if she's had a nap or not, but she will easily still nap for 3 hours each day if you let her. I have already talked to her daycare teacher about starting in April of next year to cycle her down and out of naps because I am already dreading full day kindergarten with no naps!

Ugh! It's a tough transitional phase, isn't it? I'm glad to hear that Jake is doing well without his afternoon nap. I totally giggled at the Snickers commercial image. Poor guy! Here's to hoping this is just a stage that my Landon gets through quickly. It's been so frustrating here lately!

When I was home with Jake before school started he was a horrible child in the afternoon and NEEDED that nap. Ever see those snickers comercial, well that could be Jake but instead of taking a snack break he needed a nap to be back to himself. Now that he is in kindergarten there is NO nap. They get 15 mon quiet time. Plus he is in an afterschool so his day is LONG. So far he isn't that crankmaster when he gets home but he does pass out by 7 most nights.

Now my oldest was in a preschool at 4 that made them nap and well he probably could have skipped it because then it was after 9 and he wasn't ready for bed. But they made them lie down and shut the lights off and well he'd drift off. When he went to kindergarten at 5 they had quiet time but it wasn't long enough for him to nap so thats when he stopped too.
