My Savanna was never a good sleeper and at four, she still wakes up twice a night demanding milk.

Oh, I can't imagine how hard this has been for you! I am so fortunate that both of my kiddos are good sleepers (well, my youngest is an early riser-but he STTN). And then to have to worry about waking up the whole house to sleep-train a 4 year old. UGH!
I DO know 1 person (my SIL's friend) who had a similar experience with her slightly younger son. He was 3 and not STTN. Demanding milk 2-3 times/night. A couple things she did:
The first few nights she let him have milk, but ONLY 1 oz at a time. And she made a limit-only 3 cups/night, a few nights later she allowed 2 cups, and eventually 1 cup/night.
The next few nights she only offered an oz of water.
After that he wasn't allowed anything. She did have to lock him in his room and he DID pitch huge fits! But by the 3rd night he gave up and STTN for the first time in 3 years! Ahhh, Bliss I'm sure. ;)
Be sure to tell your DD the plan. Tell her she's a big girl and doesn't need milk. Just throwing out ideas here...Does she have any other toys/loveys that she sleeps with? Maybe a big prize if she doesn't ask for milk at night?? Is there a place you can send your Mom and 8 Month old for a couple nights??? That would help-not having to worry about disrupting the whole house...
GL and HTH!!!
