WEST NILE PREVENTION...HELP!..PLEASE!

MY 5 YEAR OLD IS GOING ON A SCHOOL FIELD TRIP,IN A WOODED AREA. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS THE BEST PRODUCT TO USE FOR PREVENTION OF WEST NILE? PLEASE AND THANK-YOU FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS!

I would think your best bet is to dress your child in pants and a light, long sleeved shirt if the weather is warm. Really that would also protect against ticks and other biting insects as well. Have your child wear a hat, and then use DEET free insect repelant on exposed skin.

I've been thinking about what to do around the house, there are several places that are potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes. I really don't think the risk is that great to contact the virus, but an ounce of prevention is always better than a pound of cure.

I hope the field trip is a success!

WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT TO LOOK AT THE CENTER OF DISEASE CONTROL...WITH THAT BEING AN OBIVIOUS SPOT...SOMETIMES I THINK I'VE BEEN SHARING MY BRAIN WITH SOMEONE AND I CAN'T FIND THEM 1/2 THE TIME,AS BUSY AS I AM.
