would you enroll your son in dance class

I already know what DH response will be, but was watching something with tap dancing and my almost 5 year old was mimicing. I just thought it might be fun and I found a place with an all boy. Course might be mute point since it conflicts with school since we both work and class is 4-5 and we get him at 5:30 (could have grandparents due it but...)

My husband would have a fit, but if the kid likes it and enjoys it, why not?  You can easily use the argument that it helps with coordination, focus, and attention span which are all very productive things.  We had a couple of boys that did recreation gymnastics when ODD was doing it, and again, it was great for their energy levels and help with coordination and focus.

I totally would do it!  I had Cooper in gymnastics for a few years around this age and he loved it.  He was the only boy in the class, but he didn't care.  If your son would love it, I say go for it!  It would be a great way for him to use up some of his energy in a fun way. :)

Definitely!

The four year old boy that I nanny for takes a dance class where they do ballet and tap.  He's been doing it for about a year, and is the only boy in the class.  He realizes that, and couldn't care less.  It's adorable to watch, nad he has a great time.

Tell your dh to look at it this way: if your ds sticks with dance until he's old enough to start dating, all of the cute dancer girls are going to fight over who gets to go out with him. :)

I think its a mute point anyway since I already committed him to soccer on Saturday mornings and so far only options I found are either Saturday mornings or after school.

Although my mom agrees with me he would look really cute in a top hat cane and tap shoes. Did find one place that does all boys classes. My oldest son goes to a camp where they do talent shows end of each session and they do these dance numbers and I tried to talk him into hip hop but neither him or DH would go for it...

Yep, I would and I did, actually, a couple years ago. My youngest son was very interested in taking dance so I started looking around at schools- one of the first questions I asked was if he would be the only boy in the class, LOL. I was surprised to see just as many boys in the class as there were girls! The only reason he stopped taking classes was because he switched to piano lessons instead.
