Hi! I am a mother of a 3 year old and a 17 month old. They have tons of toys and videos but seem to get bored with that. My Daughter just loves to draw and color. I was wondering if there are any craft magazines out for children? I would like to daily start doing something crafty with them. I am not very crafty on my own and would need a guide...LOL!! If there are any magazines out there, please let me know! Thanks!!

p.s...it is still too cold to take them outside on a daily basis..I can't wait :)

I only know of one craft magazine and it's great but designed for older children. When yours are a little older try Family Fun Magazine. I'm pretty sure they have a website too and you can check that out. I do sometimes find something I can adapt for the younger ones there.

I use a great book called Arts and Crafts For Little Hands and another excellent book, Every Day In Every Way. The Every Day book has recipes, science projects, finger plays and songs, all kinds of things not just arts and crafts and each week has a theme. These are books I bought at a teacher store while I was doing home childcare. There were tons of great books at the store and our library has several too.

Sorry I don't know of any magazines to tell you about. I look forward to seeing other responses to see what others use.

Good luck and have fun with the projects.

Family Fun! It has great crafts and kids in the kitchen ideas. I've been using it with my two(7 and almost 11) for years. We've had to adapt some of the crafts at times to make them easier for the little ones, but they are wonderful!

There are also several online sites with great kid's craft ideas and coloring pages you can print out.

www.dltk-kids.com

www.kidsdomain.com

www.homeschoolzone.com/pp/ppcraft.htm

And just do a search for kid craft ideas and you will bring up tons more!
