Kevin Clash (Elmo) resigns!

I gotta admit, I'm pretty sad about this!

I've been a fan of his for a long time- read his book, watched the documentary, etc. He has done a lot of GOOD for kids around the world. Now, over one minor transgression (in which no kids have been harmed), the media flips out, makes it a huge deal and has it lead to this. Sigh.

You know, I don't know what to believe anymore!  I read something this morning that said  another accuser has stepped forward saying they had an underage relationship with him as well. In situations like this, it is so hard to know if there is really an issue or if it is blown up all for $$$.  Sad regardless.

I saw where the original claim was recanted. He probably did the right thing. It only takes one mention of anything inappropriate to totally ruin someone whether or not it is true.

This is very sad that someone could lose their career just over someone making an unfounded accusation. I guess that's one of the risks of working in a child centered field, you are under a lot more scrutiny.

I know... it rather creeps you out though.   Who knows WHAT the real story is.... time will tell if it actually goes to court.   The 2nd person is suing for $5million...  you have to wonder sometimes if these people are set up.  All-in-all it's a sad situation and what I hate is that it does put people in certain industries in a different light.  I HATE  IT ....  then again, just goes to show you that no matter what you have to take control of the protection of your children.
