3 day potty training

Hi all,

I think I am done! My 22 month old boy who can't say a word to save his life has dragged me into the bathroom to go potty!! Plus, he holds on when we are not in range of a toilet.

We used a 3 day potty training method and was wondering if anyone else has been using this particular or one similar? I personally find it a very effective and pleasant way to potty train, not to mention FAST. We had a few mishaps so it took a little longer - (he had chronic diarrhea during our potty training - nice) but I can't complain, he is day and night trained in under a week.

I am a little nervous about putting him back in childcare as they are sceptic you can potty train a young boy in such a short time. We live in Switzerland so there is a language barrier - I tried to teach him the sign for potty but he wont use it. I guess I will teach the ladies the english words for poop and pee etc!

I'd like to hear if anyone had any problems after potty training and what they did to get back on track.

Hey missy807,

go to 3daypottytraining website (dot com!) by Lora Jensen. She is so amazing and uses positive reinforcement and a gentle approach to get your child trained.. fast! She also explains very logic reasons for her method and helps with frustration.
It is an eBook for 24 dollars and in addition to the you get to ask her questions before, during and after by corresponding through the helpdesk on the site. She says she has a 100% success rate if you follow her guide to a T. I believe her, although it took a little over 3 days for us, (6 due to illness!) I will recommend this to everyone.
She also says that 22 months is the IDEAL age to train your child - no difference between boys and girls!

We don't have one diaper in the house, not even for the nights! I was nervous and skeptic at first because my boy doesn't speak but he knows how to ask and he knows how to hold on (and knows how to push!)

Let me know if you think this is a go'er!

Oh, and congrats on the pregnancy! All those lovely pregnancy hormones should keep you calm during the potty training process. (especially in the second trimester!) I'm envious!

Emam, Hi and welcome to the Toilet Teaching board.

I just want to say way to go go on your DS for training so easily with that method, thank you for sharing. There is always a change for regression with any method, and I wouldn't worry about. If it does happen just try and get back on track. There are some articles in the below folder that give some ideas on what to do if there is regression. Please keep us updated on your DS progress.

I tried using the 3 day toilet trainning but it didn't work for me I think I didn't follow her exactly as it sounded really difficult but it gave me a really good start in the beginning and in three days my son did told me that he wanted to go for pee. Also the other disadvantage for me
