Hello Tara and all you potty training mamas! I'm Julianna and I have a DD who just turned 6 and a DS who will be 3 next month. PTing was a cinch with my DD. She happily peed on the potty starting around 2 and was rewarded with a phone call to "Gigi", her grandma. And by 2.5 she was fully day trained, including poop. Another month or so and she was night trained as well.

My son... different story. I know boys PT later, but he has very little interest. He's never asked to go potty. Sometimes, when nakey, he'll go on his own. But when not he refuses to then of course pees in his pants. Right now we only put him in his big boys at home, so there's no pressure.

He's also learned that he has a "hose" and can point his penis in different directions. So far this has only happened in the shower, but I'm not looking forward to the day he does this on the bathroom walls. =O

Anyway, I'll be reading through the threads hoping to find some inspiration.

So do you recommend sitting on the potty or standing? Right now we're sitting (and they sit at school). But I haven't tried the cheerio thing, so maybe that would work (seems like fun :D). However, if there's some reason sitting is better at this age, then I won't go there yet. Plus, there then wouldn't be consistency at school.

I recommend sitting while they're still learning.
