How to potty train away from home?

Hello.

I need to get advice on how to potty train away from home? The toilets are so big and dirty in stores, restaurants, etc. What should I do? The only potty seats they sell locally are the kind you attach to the back of the toilet like a regular toilet seat.. and That would be kind of awkward to carry to the grocery store to go shopping.

My son is 19 m/o and I just started potty training him. He wears cloth training pants in the day and diaper only for sleeping. He shows that he is ready to learn. I've followed the other advice I've found from this website, but I really need to know what to do for when we are away from home.

Thank you in advance.

treybears_mommy, Hi and welcome to the Toilet Teaching board.

While away from home and potty training, Babies R Us has travel potty seats, which fold up and fit right in to a bag. I have also seen them at K-Mart/Wal-Mart/Target. There are also travel potty chairs that you can put in the back of your vehicle. I hope that helps. Please keep us updated on your DS progress.
