Hello everyone!

I'm about to dive in to potty training with my son and I need some ideas about incentives.

welcome to our board jacobandcoopersmommy.

I have used the kitchen timer quite a bit,set the timer for every hour after eating and let the fellows know that they must at least go and try to use the potty, you can race them for a bit till they get used to the routine.

Give them one m&m for trying, two if they pee and a handful of mini's for poop.

#2 if you are using disposable diapers, change over to thicker cloth training pants and plastic pants,I have found that they are far more receptive to training when they really feel what it is like to be wet with pee running down thier legs.

If you try these, please let us know which you use and thier reactions.

Many Blessings.

My plan for the first day we give it a serious go is to reward with a single M&M and a sticker for dry underwears (we are going straight to undies, no pull-ups here). Another M&M (or 2) for going and another sticker, and prolly a happy dance too, lol. And if we actually get poo on the potty that day, big huge happy dance, small handful of M&M's and a couple stickers :) I'm also starting with some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse stickers cause that's my DS's thing :) I plan of phasing out the candy and then the stickers (also switch to something like stars instead of MMCH) to just happy dance or small "YAY Quinn!" as we get more successful in the days/weeks to follow.
