After finding my son in his room with his diaper off and poop all over the floor for two days in the space of about 4 days I have decided that it is time to really step up to potty trianing.

Andrea, Hi and welcome to the toilet Teaching board.

There are many methods of potty training out there, but don't let that over whelm you. My suggestion would be to start with the naked method. Allow your DS to run around naked from the waist down. This way he gets to see what is happening and what happens when he gets those feelings. When buying underwear buy it a size larger then the size your DS is in, this way it is not tight or rubbing against him. Another suggestion is to check with your local library to see which potty training dvds and books they have, or even check with moms who have gone through the ptty training stage, many have put books and/or dvds away. Give you DS 3 to 5 days to adjust, and if your see no improvement, stop and take a break before starting again, either with the same method(s) or try another method. Please keep us updated on your DS progress.

I let him go with out a diaper for a little while yesterday and with the first accident he stopped himself and we ran over to the potty together where he went a little. then about 10 min later I he walked over to the potty and sat down by himself and went again this time more (i think that when he stopped the flow he was unable to fully relax and completly empty his bladder).

For washing the cloth training pants I recommend washing them in hot water with a little bit of laundry detergent, and line dry if possible, do not use fabric softener as that can cause problems with the absorbency.

Crossing my fingers for a good day.
