Hi Everyone,

Skylar has been doing great with the potty training. We started last Monday, she started getting the idea Tuesday and since then it's been non-stop. She poops on the potty, wakes up at night when she needs to go and then goes back to bed. The only problem with her getting up at night is, she wants to call Grandma to tell her. Since letting her call people to tell them worked better than any stickers and toys. I tell her that it's too late, she can call her in the morning. On Thursdays, we go to a play class at the zoo, I was worried about how she would be there, would she tell me, would she be ok on a public toilet. She had no problms. She even cleans her potty...she likes doing that. Now, she doesn't want her potty, she wants the big toilet. Her potty converts to fit on the big toilet so that's not a problem.

My new question is, we are going out of town next weekend. It is a 5 hour drive. We've only taken little trips to the store, park etc. since starting training. She usually falls asleep in the truck during long car rides. Do I need to be doing anything different? I thought I'd bring her potty with and just have her go when she says. I thought I should also maybe wake her up so she could go since she sometimes has a cup during the car rides. Have any of you had to go out of town while training?

Hello mom,It looks like she is just about done, for long car rides,I normally just use thicker underpants with plastic panties ,just in case, but stopping for a potty break about 1/2 way would be ok.

But if she is getting up at night, this is a good indication that she is getting the full feeling when asleep.

I love her power,it really works great.lol

Many Blessings.

Thanks Mac. Our trip has been postponed another week but I will definitely take your advice.

Believe me, Skylar knows her power works tries to use it on me all the time. When I correct her she says to me, "Momma, I'm 2 and cute." That's thanks to her Godfather. She even has a boyfriend in play class, who by the way she is trying to teach to use the potty.

Thanks again. Have a great weekend.

mom2skylar06, Hi and welcome to the Toilet Teaching board.

I agree with the previous poster. Other ideas that I have heard of others using are: are putting a pull up/diaper over their child's underwear just in case of an accident, put a waterproof liner or towel in the bottom of the car seat/boaster seat, and also just pulling off the road (I had to do that many times, if we were on the highway and weren't able to stop at a stop or restaurant), and just pack some extra clothes to keep in the car just in case of an accident.
