My daughter started potty training about a week and a half ago. She's great at using her little elmo potty and a toilet when she's holding onto me. She has yet to tell me when she needs to go, or to poop on the potty (she waits for her night time diaper for that!). Will these two things come with time, or is there something I could be doing to help her start doing these things?

Thanks!

Hi soozq.

initiating (telling you ) is usually the last step in the training.

waiting to poop in the diaper can be a hard nut to crack, this shows that she knows what she is doing and has the control.

The first thing I would suggest is making sure she is getting plenty of fibre and if needed, miralax or other non-addictive laxative
