Hello my name is Monica. I have a two and a half year old daughter, she has been potty trained since September of 2008. Recently she has been having lots of accidents.

It's not uncommon for a child to have periods of regression for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's behavioral (not wanting to stop playing to use the toilet), but there can be physical reasons, too, such as UTI, constipation, or going through a growth spurt.

My older 3 kids never had periods of regression, but my youngest child seemed to go through a 1-2 week regression every 3-4 months for about 1.5 years. Drove me crazy, but she seems to have outgrown it now. Whew!

If your dd seems casual about it, you may want to try treating it behaviorally. If she seems bothered by wetting herself and being unable to get to the toilet on time, then you may want to get her checked to see whether there's a physical cause to the problem.

Monica, Hi and welcome to the Toilet Teaching board.

My suggestion would be to call the pediatrician, but you have stated that you were doing that. Other then that try and continue as though nothing has changed. You may want to have your DD help clean up after an accident. I hope that helps. Please keep us updated on your DD progress.
