whimsysfun, Hi and welcome to the Toilet Teaching board.

Every child is different, and sometimes boys take longer to train. My suggestions would be to watch some dvd's with your son on Potty Training, there are many out there, if your ds likes Elmo, then Elmo's Potty Time would be great, but there are many more including books. If you feel that your DS is ready you could allow him to run around naked from the waist down so he can see what is happening when he gets the feeling that he needs to go. Another suggestion would be to pick his favorite place to go a store/restaurant/park and make a chart and tell your DS when he fills the chart that he will get to go there, even if it is 10 to start off, and then do return visits with higher goals. For my oldest DS there were two places that he enjoyed going, Chuck E Cheese and Ikea. I hope that helps. Please keep us updated on your DS progress.

Hello whimsy,I would start with the naked method Christina suggested.

Then take him to the store and have him pick out three pair of his favorite charector underpants, and you get him about a 1/2 dozen pair of the thicker cloth training pants and a dozen pair of plastic pants to go over the trainers.

pick a day,and with him, mark it on the calender,at the end of the time, there will no longer be any diapers except at night and nap times.

after morning bath, let him run around the house for a couple of hours naked(or only allow him in the kitchen this way),this will help him understand what is actually happening when he gets those feelings.

when going out,or having company, use the training pants with the individual plastic pants,if you think you may be out for a long time and will not have access to potties, put on two pair of trainers and have extra clothing with you.

Don't worry,it will end.

Many Blessings.
