How do you make the transition from going in the little potty at home to actually wearing underwear out and about since most public restrooms have those big seats with the opening in front? DS does great at home but he is only 2 and those seats are huge for him. That opening is almost as big as his little butt and sideways seems awkward.

I've heard of some moms teaching their kids to sit backwards on the big potty. Its supposed to also help little boys keep aimed correctly :P. I'm lucky, my DS knows how to hold himself up on the toilet, but his daycare works with all the kids his age on PT.

You might also look at getting some training unders, they are kinda like a cloth diaper turned into unders. And/or some plastic diaper covers as well, to help hold the accidents in place :)

This is what I'm talking about: With the plastic pants, I had to go a size under what my DS would be by weight. (from 2T-3T size to 18-24 month size)

I've found both of these at my local Wal-mart, but I couldn't find them online, but this is what I've got or close to it.

Thank you again Sara, you are doing a great job.

I see you are doing pretty good with your son as well,Yes,sitting backwards is about the best unless you have the blow-up style potty ring.I still have problems finding this though.

I do recommend the plastic pants when out and about with the thicker cloth trainers.

One great place to find the plastic pants is E-Bay,look under vintage plastic pants.

I wish everyone all the best of luck.

There's also this from one step ahead, but I can't justify it for my DS, because he is 36lbs and it only goes to 40lbs.
