2 year old ignoring me!

I was just wondering if there were any other mommies of 2 year old out there that have any advice on ignoring. My daughter Olivia deliberately ignores me...even if I'm not asking her to do something specifically....If I ask her if she is ready to eat breakfast she just keeps doing what she is doing and pretends not to hear me, but I know she is listening.....I get down to her level and tell her that when mommy is asking her a question she needs to answer and then I ask again (sometimes a few times) and then she will finally answer me! It's so frustrating sometimes and I don't understand why she is doing it! Also, do you think it is normal for her not to want to look at me when I am trying to explain to her...like when I try to tell her why she had to sit in time out for example.....Thanks so much!

I definately think its normal.. unfortunately! :) IMO, I think its partially a stubborn streak of finding thier independence - and also testing boundaries. Logan does it less and less as he gets older - which is wonderful - He's almost 4.

I agree with the PP-totally normal! :) I think you're doing everything right. With Mara I just got down to her level and said, "Mara, look at my eyes. I need you to ____". She's much better now...except when she's in trouble and then it's more of a struggle. LOL but that's to be expected I think. GL!
