When did your toddler have his/her first trip to the dentist?

We took DD to the dentist at 2yrs 7months. The first visit they just to a once over. No exrays or cleaning. They check for cavities. Just to get the child comfortable with being at the dentist.
A friend of mine told me that a child under 3 doesnt make plaque older children and adults do so if you forget a brushing its not a bad thing.

Logan is 4.5 and I haven't taken him in yet :( I NEED to get on that soon. I was told though, during my last visit - that starting at 3 (my dentist wouldn't take children younger) they can be seen as long as they allow you to brush thier teeth (because then they shouldn't freak out when the dentist looks at thier mouth). I would suggest just calling your dentist and going with their recommendation.
