Easter Baskets!

Has anyone thought about Easter baskets yet?  My mom called me this morning to ask about something she wanted to get the boys and it sent me into a bit of a panic.  We only have a little over 3 weeks until Easter!  If you make up a basket(s), what will you be putting in them this year?

Those are great ideas too! We never seem to be able to find the sunglasses when we need it! Emma's teacher sent an email saying they are doing a math egg hunt the Thursday before easter so to send in eggs numbered 11-20 with something other than candy in them. Target had a thing in their "dollar" section with 3 eggs and they were full of little erasers, those "gummy" frogs, etc. So I picked up 2 of those and figured I could send the extras to Madison's school. They always ask for donations for eggs for a hunt also. I picked up a few small things for the girls' baskets also. I need to s[end some time getting organized this weekend, DH is unfortunately going to be out of town for Easter, so its all me this year getting things done and ready for it.

Eeek!  Tracy!  I can fully understand why Easter is low on the list.  You have a lot all at once!

I do the outdoor toys for Landon too, especially sidewalk chalk and bubbles.  It is a good time to stock up for the warmer months!  I also usually put in a pair of sunglasses, hat, water bottle, etc.  Basically all the things they'll likely need for the warmer months... and I cheat and put them in the basket!  I also do a new outfit for each of them.  I need to track those down soon.  Easter really snuck up on me this year!

That's a cute idea, Lisa! I would never have thought to put cereal in eggs!

Let's see, got a 18th birthday, before easter, a 6th birthday right after, a senior graduation and then a 4th birthday, all in the next 3 months.  Easter is going to get the short end of the stick!  We've been trying to get away from all the candy involved in Easter, so I am not sure what we'll do.  I tend to put new outdoor toys in the baskets for the little ones, new jump ropes, new sidewalk chalk and bubbles, etc.  The older one will likely get nail polish, grooming supplies, etc.

I remember when my boys were this age that I would put cereal in the eggs- Fruit Loops, Apple Jacks, etc. Seems a little weird but they loved it! Hard to think of things that will fit in an egg, especially when they are that little. Smile
