Hi! I'm moving over from the One Year Old's board and would like to join you ladies here. My ds, Justin, just turned 2 on April 5th, although he entered the "terrible twos" a few weeks ago. It's been very..um..interesting..around our house lately with his new antics, lol. It's just the three of us so far, plus our dog, three cats, and a 55gal tank of fish :). Justin is very much the stereotypical boy: loud, very active, and loves trucks, cars, trains, and animals. He also loves Elmo and the Wiggles.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi Dawn(boy we have had a lot of DAWN'S join recently, LOL) & Justin......Welcome to our great board!

I am Laura, one of the Community Leaders here and also a SAHM to Emily 9.2, Jordan 4.4 and baby #3 due May 25th and we live in IL!

Your son sure sounds like the typical boy! I do have to say though that 2's were a breeze for us for the most part...our problem was the last few months of the 2's and the beginning half of the 3's...UGH!

Hope to get to know you both better--jump right on in!

Hello and welcome! This is a fun board. All I can say is hold on to your hat! This is a fun stage but can be a difficult one. It has been my experience, from my education and my observance of my kids, that 2 yo are all about their bodies, discovering they can affect people and things with them, running, jumping, climbing... Then at 3 they are learning to exercise their autonomy and are establishing their independence from you. Yes, they are challenging you and your patience but they are still wonderful little people! At what other age are you going to have a child that is so intereseted in flowers, the moon and stars, birds, learning how things work (by taking them apart), etc. It's such and inquisitive, genuinely excited-for-life age. I love it!

Do you stay at home? Do you work? Do you have any other children? Looking foward to hearing from you and getting to know you better. Again, welcome!

I guess I should've mentioned that, hehe. I am a SAHM and love it. It makes things so much easier, and to be honest, I really didn't like working *that* much :) DH and I have been married for 10 1/2 years and tried for most of that time to have a baby. After seeing a fertility specialist for about 6 months, I finally conceived Justin. I was hoping to already be pregnant with baby #2, but again my body has other plans. DH was downsized 6 months ago, and with that went the insurance so we're stuck in a holding pattern for the time being. With our little stinker, however, I often think that maybe it's for the best I'm not caring for an infant at the same time ;)

hi dawn! i also lurked for a while before jumping in and i have found so much support here, i wish i knew about it much, much earlier. happy belated birthday to justin! my ds is 2.5 and loves the wiggles too. i don't mind them, but it's a little embarassing when i find myself humming "henry the octopus" at the office, lol. i was sahm for 18 months then went back to work. my dh is sah for now too. i often wonder about being sah again, but there are a few times i'm a little happy to run away to the office, lol.

welcome to a great board!
