Help... Itchy scalp

Hello ladies,

my 28m. daughter is experiencing a very itchy scalp. She's scratching her head most of the time. Since she goes to the daycare I suspected lace, but I checked so many times and she has nothing, no eggs, no little things :) And she doesn't have that much hair, so I'm sure I checked very well. She doesn't have any redness, rash, or red spots either.. nothing that could help me figure out what she's having.

She has curly hair so we only use shampoo once in a week, we do conditioner wash the rest of the days so I know it's not dryness that she's having.. so I'm left with what???????????? nothing.. I don't know, I read everything online and couldn't come up with a logical explanation. My husband wants to take her to the doctor but I thought I will ask if someone experienced a similar situation first.

Thanks a lot for the responses

I think you've ruled out everything I can think of.. I'd recommend the doctor route... Keep us updated!

Thanks for the response. Actually, I think it's going away, she hasn't been scratching as much yesterday and today.
My husband read somewhere that there are types of gluten allergies that make your body and head itch without obvious symptoms like rash or redness and since she's allergic to wheat then may be a logical explanation for what she had for the past few days. We're not sure that's what it was though, but we'll be more careful about wheat next time.

Strange, cuz I would think an allergy would cause a rash or something. I was going to say maybe it's b/c of the weather. Not sure where you are, but it's cold here so we've had the heat running most days, which causes dry, itchy skin. Glad it seems to be clearing up without having to make a trip to the doc! KUP!
