I know that several parts of the country are just steaming hot right now.

We are having fairly mild temps right now. We are expecting mid-80's today... I can handle that! I hope everyone is staying cool!

It's been super hot here in Chicago. It seems to go from super hot to thunderstorms to super hot again. The storms have been so bad that there are trees broken all over our neighborhood (and one fell and crushed our neighbor's car, my 3.5 year old son saw it happen because he was watching the storms and thought that was AWESOME - the neighbors didn't think it was so great).

We've been cooped up because of the heat, quick trips outside is all we can manage, and I think we're all going crazy! Today it wasn't too bad, 80 something and muggy, so I was able to get Cavan out to play at the park for awhile.

It was a couple of extremely hot days for us. I took the kids outside for short 10-15 minute intervals in shaded places. In addition, we took a late afternoon swim each day and I made their naps a little bit earlier. It was HOT HOT HOT at over 100 degrees in the Baltimore, MD area

YUCK! I don't blame you at all... I'd be inside in the air conditioning for sure! I hope there is some relief from the heat coming soon!

Oh, I love a good summer thunderstorm... but not when it causes that kind of damage. Scary!

Swimming is a great way to get some relief from the heat. I hope the temp drops for you soon!

We're in Texas, but it has been even more unseasonably warm this year than any that I have been here in 6 years. When we are home on the weekends we do about 90% of our outdoor time in the early morning, the park, the kiddie pool, etc. and then we tend to keep indoor activities for afternoon after nap time. And then we do some outdoor time in the early evening just before or after dinner, on the covered patio.

Hi Tracy- It makes me sweat just thinking about an unseasonably warm Texas! I can't even imagine! It sounds like you've got a pretty good routine worked out, though. Hopefully it'll cool off a bit in your area soon!

Unfortunately no end in sight, 105 today and tomorrow, 101-103 the rest of the week and a slight chance of rain late in the weekend. We just need one or two really good thunderstorms around here!
