Done with pretty much all the presents except for wrapping and having the kids make MIL and grand-MIL picture ornaments. I have wrapped all the kids' gifts except for some clothes I need to get shirt boxes for and waiting for the embroiderer to get done with DH's jackets with his company name on them.

Cards will go out this weekend, I have them made, I just need to get addresses and stamps on them.

As for baking, I had planned on doing all of it this weekend when my new oven was delivered, but we got a call Tuesday saying it was now backordered and wouldn't be in til at least Dec. 30th. grrr! We ordered it Thanksgiving day and it wasn't backordered, I don't know why DH decided to wait and have it delivered so close to Christmas!! So I'm sure I'll do some baking this weekend with the kids, but not as much as I had planned. :0(

Bummer about the oven! This isn't a good time of year not to have it. Do you have an old one you are able to use or is it shot?

Sounds like you are wrapping up your holiday prep nicely. It feels so good to check things off the list this time of year!

Like I mentioned, I'm still far away from being done! I have not wrapped a thing yet (gulp!) but most everything has been purchased. I put most of the older boys' gifts on layaway at Walmart this year because they are so darned sneaky! I'll be picking everything up tonight. I'm still waiting on a ton of things to be shipped so hopefully they'll be here soon. My cards have been mailed and the one thing I had to ship was sent out yesterday (I cannot believe how much it costs to ship things. EEK!).

As for baking and cooking, I have not done much. We made sugar cookies last weekend and they have already been devoured. I made some fudge on Tuesday too but that's all I've done. I have a PTA meeting tonight and want to bring something to share so I'll probably whip something up this afternoon for that. Hopefully this weekend I'll get a few more goodies made too.

The one we have works, but only 3 of the burners work, and the oven is wonky with temperature. I have to continually rotate things so the because the back half seems to heat more, so if I don't, the back half gets burned and the front half just isn't done all the way. And the handle that had been glued on when we moved into the house, I reglued so many times i gave up and now its just nubs. We would have had one a while ago, but DH insisted on waiting til we had the money to get a stainless steel 2 drawer one. Love it and can't wait for it to get here, just getting frustrated by it all, especially since it was so expensive.

Oh, I can see how that oven would make cooking a challenge! Your new one sounds heavenly! I hope it gets here soon (how frustrating!).

DH told me last nght a surprise was bring delivered on Tuesday. When I asked him something about the old oven today he said not to worry about it, my new one was bring delivered on tuesday. He wouldn't give me details when I asked if he had cancelled the other one and ordered one from someplace else, he just said be happy, my new one would be here tuesday. He has his faults, but when he wants soething accomp, usher, he gets it done no matter what!

I'm ready as well! We started (and finishing) wrapping the gifts. We celebrate 2 holidays in this season, and Hanukkah starts tomorrow I think so we had to get ready. We got out the menorahs today as well. We've had the house decorated for Christmas for a while, but we always hold off on introducing the "blues" with all of the christmas red and greens :)
