Do you like or dread Mondays?

Do you use your local library? How long can you check out books for? What about movies?

When was the last time you saw a movie at a drive-in? What was it and who was with you?

How many calendars do you have? How do you keep track of family errands, activities, appointments? Ever missed something? What?

What chores do your children have? Do they do them without being reminded or do you have to stand over them until they are done?

Allowances? How much, how often and when did it start? How do they earn extra? Have you ever taking part of the allowance away? Why?

When is your garbage collected? Does your city have a recycling program? How do you get rid of your yard waste?

Have stuff at the dry cleaners? When did you take it there? How much does it cost you to have a shirt dry cleaned?

Do you like or dread Mondays? *yes

Do you use your local library? How long can you check out books for? What about movies?

*yes quite frequently - the one across town is 28 days but I just found out this one is only 14 days oops, movies are 3 days

When was the last time you saw a movie at a drive-in? What was it and who was with you?

*drive-ins, should I say about 8 1/2 years ago maybe longer. It was with dh before we got married not even really sure of the title of the first movie we left for the second movie - Arnold movie, that kid one that was like a TV show or something like that.

How many calendars do you have? How do you keep track of family errands, activities, appointments? Ever missed something? What?

*oh lets see...... 4 or 5 and I try but mostly it's all in my brain

What chores do your children have? Do they do them without being reminded or do you have to stand over them until they are done?

* Gee this is the 2 and 3's board... so for those 2 children no I don't have any real chores, they do help on cleaning days and get a quarter for for each job, like sweep (with their toy broom), clean the sliding glass door window, clean the table and their toy table, and general nightly to pick up books and toys.

Allowances? How much, how often and when did it start? How do they earn extra? Have you ever taking part of the allowance away? Why?

*see above, I start about 2 1/2 years old. but at that time it's really just novalty and not really an allowance. around 5 is when the saving thing starts to happen and then my 5 year old saved for a special toy.

When is your garbage collected? Does your city have a recycling program? How do you get rid of your yard waste?

*Friday morning, yes, in the woods

Have stuff at the dry cleaners? When did you take it there? How much does it cost you to have a shirt dry cleaned?

*nope

Do you like or dread Mondays?

**Well I don't work so it all depends on the weekend. Sometimes I'm sad to see the weekend go if it's been a very pleasent weekends, but on very hetic weekends I can't wait till Mondays.

Do you use your local library? How long can you check out books for? What about movies?

**No

When was the last time you saw a movie at a drive-in? What was it and who was with you?

**We don't have drive ins around here. But we do go to a theater twice a month.

How many calendars do you have? How do you keep track of family errands, activities, appointments? Ever missed something? What?

**One but I don't really keep track of errands in it. I keep it all in my head.

What chores do your children have? Do they do them without being reminded or do you have to stand over them until they are done?

**Well he has to pick up his room before bed. If it's really bad I help. And if he has any toys in the living room he has to pick up those also. He likes to help do things like dust and vaccum but I don't make him.

Allowances? How much, how often and when did it start? How do they earn extra? Have you ever taking part of the allowance away? Why?

**No not yet. If he has been good, dh and I will buy him something small on pay day or take him to pick out a movie to rent.

When is your garbage collected? Does your city have a recycling program? How do you get rid of your yard waste?

**Garbag is collected on Tuesday morniings between 430 and 6 am. No our city does not hav a recycling program.

Have stuff at the dry cleaners? When did you take it there? How much does it cost you to have a shirt dry cleaned?

No I have never ever used a dry cleaner, and probably never will.

1. I DREAD Mondays...ugh

2. Yes we use our library...books are for 14 days and they don't do video rental

3. Don't laugh...but I have NEVER been to a drive in

4. Oh boy...calendars are my weakness..I have them everywhere. I have over 5 calendars around the house. I have a dry erase board that is on the fridge that keeps track of appointments, events, etc.......

5. No chores....they do things around the house, but not really chores

6. No allowances...if they want something I will usually find osmething for them to do to earn that extra something

7. Garbage day is on Thursdays....yes a recycling program and it is awful and yard waste--DH usually burns it or it can be bagged and set out with the garbage

8. Very rarely use the dry cleaners.....TOOO expensive...we live in a small town with 1 dry cleaner, so you can imagine the prices. Dh does have 2 suits there now and I assume they will cost us over $20 when I pick them up Friday. I think shirts are $3 something to have dry cleaned...we don't do it though

1. I dread Mondays

2. Yes, books are 14 days & videos are 7 days. I normally get new books and movies once per week.

3. We haven't had drive-ins around here since I was a little girl. I have no idea what I saw last, but I'm sure it was with my mom. She loved going there!

4. Lets see....at work: one desk (daily) calendar, one full-year calendar on my wall, one monthly (print-out) w/ all my appts and project due dates on it. At home: one that came from my insurance agent and one that my MIL makes that has pics of the family w/ everyone's bday and anniversary on it. I have NO excuse for missing anything! ;o)

5. Brian empties the bathroom trash and Audrey is in charge of watering the plants. They both help out occasionally with dusting, dishes(setting & clearing the table), and yardwork. They take turns making kool-aid.

6. No real allowance. They do chores because they are part of the household and will do extras to earn money.

7. Once per week. Our city has a recycling program, but we are not included in it. Yard waste? We really don't have any...we mulch.

8. I have been really good about making sure we buy clothes that can be washed. Dry-cleaning is such a pain! We have a discount place near us that charges $1.50 per item and they seem to do a good job, but I'd rather not have to deal with it at all. I used to waste so much money on it.

**Well, you can tell I hate Mondays since it took me until Wednesday to post!

**Yes, we use our local library. We have three branches in our immediate area and then a huge, nice, new library downtown. We can check out books for 3 weeks. I have never checked out movies, so I don't know about that one.

**Haven't been to the drive-in since I was a teenager. There is one about 30 minutes from here that I have been wanting to take the kids to.

**I have one calendar on the 'fridge with everything written in on it. I can't think of anything I've missed lately. At least I hope not...

**Emeline has small chores. Putting her dirty clothes in the basket in the laundry room, picking up her toys every night, and taking her dishes to the kitchen after a meal. We rarely have to remind her. Augusta (7 yrs old) has a few more responsibilities and we constantly have to remind her. We don't necessarily have to stand over her, but she needs some "prodding" every once in a while.

**Augusta get $2 a week and we started that when she was 5 yrs old. Both girls have their own bank accounts (b-day $, etc go in those accounts)and they can use some of that money if there is something they "have to have" that we don't necessarily think is a "must". That really isn't an issue with Emeline yet. They don't "earn" their allowance $. It is money to teach them how to use/spend/save money. Their chores are necessary just for being members of this family. TV time is taken away if their chores aren't done. (We have charts that keep up with that. They are rewarded with other things - treat at the store, ice cream, etc...- for doing their chores and other things we have listed as "extras". That can be getting along with you sister, cooperating when asked to do something...)

**Trash is on Wednesdays. We do have city-sponsored curbside recycling here. They even provided huge, nice rolling bins! They pick that up once a month. We have a compost pile in the back of the yard for leaves, etc...The city will pick up limbs and things like that if you call and schedule it.

**Neither one of us have to "dress" for work. We rarely take things to the cleaners. I think shirts are $2.50 a piece to be drycleaned.

Great questions!! Thanks Dawn!
