Yep, we deal with that on-and-off. My favorite is if I do something for Joe that he wanted to do, he cries and makes me let him do it. Example: today I lifted him out of the car. he flipped out and i had to put him back in the car so he could get out himself!

It is trying for sure!

Boy, that sounds familiar! Landon wants to close the car door by himself. Fine if he is out of the car... can't happen if he's inside because I need to buckle him in before I can close the door. We usually have a meltdown a few times a week because of that one. Gotta love it!

Oh, yes! Nadia gets upset if I flush the toilet for her (it's just a habit - I do it without thinking sometimes). The other day she was sitting on the floor on DH's lap. He stood her up so he could get up and she said, "No! I wanted to do it!" and proceeded to sit back down on his lap and get up by herself. I wish I had that on video. Overall, I like her growing independence, though. I like that she can get things out of the fridge or feed the dog or go potty all by herself. Makes my life that much easier.
