Plan for bday... awkward?

We still have not baptised our daughter. I'm thinking a baptism then a family bbq for her 3rd bday. Both sides of the family are religious. Is the pairing awkward or does it work? I can't really decide.. The party will just be family, no random little kids from dance class, etc. Thoughts, please?

I think it's a great idea, only have to plan/pay for one party, buy one dress for her, great way to celebrate her birth. The only potential downside might be either only receiving one gift for both occassions or worse receiving a gift for the baptism and a separate one for her birthday.

I know my 3 yr old gets overwhelmed and impatient if she has to open lots of presents, maybe dividing it into baptism gifts before the cake and birthday presents after if there seems like too many at one time.

Either way, I'm sure both milestones will be special.

I think it is a great idea! I'm sure that the invited guests would appreciate doing it all on one day as well. It will be lovely to attend the baptism and then have a lunch or dinner after. Great idea to combine them!

I think it's a great idea too.
