I've been presented with a potentially promising situation of a just turned 3 year old little boy for adoption.

Don't buy a toddler bed..my friend had one for her nephew she was granted custody of, and they told her she had to buy a "regular twin bed" or he couldn't come live there...either a crib or twin...if it's a state/county type adoption....I don't know if the laws are the same everywhere, but he'd outgrow it in about a year anyway...walmart.com has some pretty cheap twin beds and mattresses....

You'll still need a carseat/booster...I'd get a convertible type..my carseat converts into a booster and will last until they are 100lbs. I was always told to keep them in a 5-point harness for as long as you can..so even though they might be big enough for a booster, it's safter to have them in the carseat if they still fit. All the boxes will tell you what the weight limits are and height requirements are for the seats...

My kids love Dora, NiHao Kailan, and their new favorite is team Umi Zoomi. My kids love to draw, trains, hot wheels...

That's wonderful! Congratulations!!! I hope that everything goes smoothly for you all! :)

I agree with the PP-no sense in buying a toddler bed. A twin would be fine since he'd likely be growing out of a toddler bed soon anyway. I would however get the safety rails so the little guy doesn't roll out (incase he's not used to sleeping in a big bed).

As for toys; We are huge into BOOKS and puzzles at our house. Also anything arts/crafts like playdough, paints, colors, markers, sidewalk chalk since it's starting to get nice out.

Good luck and please keep us posted!

Congrats!!!

What things should i buy? What size car seat? We personally use the Graco Nautilus - its great!!!

Is a toddler bed ok? I wouldn't bother with a toddler bed. Go straight for either a twin or full instead.

What about toys what are 3 years old interested in? Logan is 3.5 and he loves cars/trucks, star wars, playdough and the accessories. I would suggest some sort of coloring/art supplies too!

I bought some Dora, blues clues, elmo videos any suggestions??? Logan really likes Clifford, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Bob the builder, Backyardigans, Little Einsteins....
