Hello. My name is Jennifer and I have a 3 year old son named Jack. Jack turned 3 on January 3rd. We started to potty train him on his 3rd birthday. The only reason we waited so long is because people told us to wait until he is ready - He has never showed any signs of interest. He is very smart and knows how to use the potty - He just does not want to use his potty. We have tried everything - stickers, toys, videos. He does not even care if his underware is wet or dry. He does not care if he pees or poops on the carpet. I have no idea what to do at this point. Today I started to use negetive punishment with him. I told him no more videos, no more trips to the park or museum until he uses his potty. He still does not care. I have no idea where to go from here.

I have no idea if this will work, but my son is like a typical boy and thought peeing on a duck was hilarious and fun. Did you know big rubber ducks don't flush but they swirl around enough to stay kinda clean? Anyway maybe the fun factor will kick in after a while.

My son' peed OK in the potty though. Pooping was the trick, he hid and did it for the longer time but one day it was like a light switched and he wanted to. No accidents since. He was between 3 and 3.5 when he decided it was time. Hang in there.
