QOTW: What time do YOU go to bed?

I saw a graphic on Facebook today from USA Today.  They surveyed 1000 adults, asking them when they go to bed at night and this is what they found:

Before 10pm- 22%

Between 10pm and midnight- 54%

After midnight- 24%

What time do you normally get to bed each night? Do you feel like you get enough sleep?

I have almost the exact same situation as you, I am in bed between 10 and 11 and ideally need to be up between 5 and 5:30 to be out the door at 6:20. I was doing well for a while getting in bed earlier, but this summer has been a struggle getting the kids into bed before 8 or 8:30 because of how light it is, etc. and i am just plain exhausted, not to mention DH works all hours, so he is in and out of the bedroom at all hours of the night coming in from work.

It has been harder getting my boys to bed this summer too. The light really messes up bedtimes. I'm actually thinking of getting some blackout curtains for their rooms to help. Your DH coming in all hours of the night has to be rough! My DH wakes up at 3am each day and it really messes up the rest of my sleep each night.

Their curtains are pretty good at blocking out the light, I think its more, the rest of the house, actually getting your pj's on and its bright outside, getting into the bath, seeing some of the other slightly older kids out in the neighborhood still out playing out the patio door type situation. I remember feeling like that in the summers growing up when all the kids were outside my bedroom window playing and I was laying in bed hating my parents for making me go to bed when it was still light out. LOL!

3 a.m. sucks too! At least its consistent, but I definitely know how bothersome it is!

That's my kids these days- not so happy that they are in bed when the kids outside are having fun! To be fair (to me!), some of those kids are outside still when I go to bed (we are talking 10-11pm). My kids just do better on a schedule so we stick to one pretty much all year round. They get up so early, no matter what time they go to bed, and they need their sleep!

Ya, that's how I feel, our schedule doesn't change much at all whether its summer or winter. I try and keep them on the same one on teh weekends too, but its not as easy, especially because the little one takes a later and longer nap on the weekend so she tends to be more of a night own. And then ALL I hear is the middle one saying how unfair it is that the little one gets to stay up later than her.

I'm not an early riser either! It's hard to get to bed early when there is just so much to do (and still have a little time for yourself!). I try to get things ready the night before too. It does make the mornings so much easier for everyone!
