i would guess the conflict is between wanting the two year old to learn, but to limit TV. Repetition is is definitely great for learning.. I know Logan likes to do puzzles and activities over, and over, and over again... I'm sure TV is the same way... but limiting it so that they are doing things to learn while interacting with objects or people is always preferable. :)

As a parent, I would limit TV watching too. Yes, kids like repetition, but diversity is a good thing too. By limiting his exposure to an obsession they are opening his horizons to new things for him to learn about and from! My kids have obsessions too, but there is a limit to good things. The child "experts" advise giving your child a lot of different experiences to help stretch and grow their intellect. I am glad your brother/sil are limiting his TV time! They are the parents and they know what is best for their little man.
