Slathering our kids withsunscreen is a summertime must -- but is there a mom out there who doesn't dread the task? When it comes to getting coated with the goopy white stuff, our squirmy, one-foot-out-the-door kids aren't ever on board. (Never mind that if you make one wrong move and sunscreen gets in their eyes, just add 45 minutes to your pool departure time.)

Of course, we all know the basics: Use a product with a minimum SPF of 30 and apply (and reapply!) a lot of it. But how do you actually get it on? We asked moms for their best kid-tested strategies:

My kids ALWAYS make a fuss when it comes to putting on sunscreen.  How about your kiddos?  What are your best tips for getting them all slathered down? :)

My kids know that they can't go into the pool without it, period.  I don't get any fuss out of them at all.  We usually put it on at the house before we head out to the pool, that way they aren't squirming around wanting to run into the pool instead of standing still.

Also, here is a great article to keep in mind when choosing a high SPF sunscreen, it isn't always better.
