Too Much Salt?

I thought this was interesting.  To be honest, I have not given it much thought until now.  Do you monitor how much salt your child consumes?

Do you know how much salt your toddler is eating?

It's probably more than you think. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the average daily sodium intake for kids ages 2 to 5 is about 2300 mg -- well above the American Heart Association's recommendation that most people eat no more than 1500 mg of sodium per day. And it turns out that commercial toddler foods may be part of the problem.

Wow, I had NO idea that this could even be a concern for kids this young! Crazy.

We use sea salt at home too.  I just prefer the flavor!

I don't monitor it.  We do a lot of home made foods for dinner and breakfast, the only time they really have processed foods are at school.  I also make sure whenever we are cooking at home, we use sea salt, sodium content it isn't better, but overall its better and because of the robust flavor of it, I who is a professed salt addict, actually use less of it:
