hi

how is he sleeping? i tend to look at sleep patterns first to address any behavioral problems - usually an overtired baby may act out. a chronically overtired baby is tougher. if he is sleeping well, then maybe he's going through the terrible twos. can you give an example of destructive/aggressive?

my nephew is quite the typical 2yr old. he is also one to destroy the house if you let him so my sister always has to keep an eye on him. he must dismantle everything he touches but that's also part of being a toddler - they love learning how things work and part of that learning is taking things apart; climbing, jumping, yelling, pushing or pulling things. if he doesn't get his way, he will turn into a wet noodle and scream at the top of his lungs.

my DD is sort of like that but i tend to be pretty firm if she does something that she's not supposed to do such as run around with crayons, throw her toys etc. sometimes she will act out and try and hit me or bite me but i always do what i normally do and hold her hands by her sides, get to her eye level and say "no biting/hitting/head-butting (yes she head-butts!). we only kiss and hug". then i continue to look her in the eye for a few seconds more and give her a hug and kiss. that is what i read you're supposed to do and i've been doing that and it seems to work.

let me know about his sleep and we can try and take it from there.
