We did our first DI ICI today! I was worried about storage and transport problems because they live like 45 minutes away. But my brother-inlaw and his gf let us use their room so it was FRESH!!!!!!!!!! WOOO HOOO!!!!

I hope it works. He is coming over tomorrow for a lunch party I am hosting and he will give us one more before the party and one after. Now for the 2WW I guess!

Hi There!

I am so excited for you! I am doing my first at-home ICI at the end of this month, so I would really appreciate any tips you might have. What did you use to do the insemination? Anything you could offer would be great. Wishing you lots of baby dust!

My husband was recently in the hospital and had surgery, we always snag any "extras" they leave in the room. So we used a flush syringe with a piece of plastic tubing attached to the end of it. The tubing was from an oxygen breathing hose that he came out of surgery with. However you can order a syringe with a small catheter on it from an online medical supply, we had no time. We also snagged a few specimen cups from the bathroom at the hospital, you can also get these online.

Our donor is my husband's brother. Today we went to his house, gave him the cups and he went into the bathroom and got a sample for us just like that. We took our syringe and a little vibrator for stimulation and went into the other room and took care of business. I just held up my hips and he inserted the syringe and pushed on the syringe and then got some stimulation going. I don't know if it is a good sign or a bad one, but my ovulation cramps seem to have picked up a bit since we've been home for a few hours.

Way to go Mountainmom! I wish you all the luck in the world. As you know it worked for us and we couldn't be happier! I know it can work for you too. Remember we are all holding your hands.

We bought an EPT and tested 4 days earlier then AF was expected, our test turned to two pink lines before she even finished peeing on it. BTW I kept the HPT for our "journey book." I know it sounds weird but we have waited a really long time and been through so much so I decided to keep it. Anyway EPT claims on the box that you can test a full 5 days early, so why wait?

Good luck and hugs to you!!

Just for the record since I saw it discussed, we just went to our local clinic and asked for a semen specimin cup and they gave it to us no quesstions asked. We also asked for some 5cc pipettes and they gave us a bunch. It is the same things that my RE used during our IUI so we figured why mess with it. Anyway most Dr's will give it to you free and it was all sterile. And the Good part is it WORKED!!

Thanks for the support. My DH says I am already prego but I don't want to get my hopes up. Heck implantation takes at least a week right? If I test Friday it will have been 7 days. If I wait until the 4 days before AF, then it is next Mon the 25th. Who knows if I can wait that long.
