Can you gals help me with one more thing

Hi gals, i am so trying to understand the financial part of donor egg. We are looking at doing the 3:1 shared risk program as Shady Grove Fertility. I have spoken with the coordinators and very much like the feel of the place.

The only thing I'm a bit nervous about and I thought maybe you gals, who have been through it, could help me a bit.

I want to make sure I am on board with all the costs. i know that the $29,000 is all inclusive of 6 Fresh Cycles.

What I am looking for is - I am going to be an out-of-state patient. I have had the blood work taken for the prescreeening. Can anyone who is also traveling to SG for this procedure tell me what the additional out-of-pocket costs are? they mentioned having an hsg and monitoring done at my local clinic. I just want to get an idea of how much the out-of-pocket costs will be at my local clinic.

I would greatly appreciate your help!!!

Lynda

I'm in the same boat as everyone else Lynda - the testing done by SG was covered, only paid a co-pay later.

Hi there:
I am in the same boat... Everything was covered except the mock cycle appointment. My insurance ( Tricare) covered all meds, u/s, b/w and hsg. I think we paid $495.00 for the mock cycle o
plus the $29,000 to SG. However, I deducted all my medical costs that weren't covered and got back a nice chunk of change. I also included all my travel costs in the deduction and hotel bill in DC. Just a thought. Have you contacted your insurance company to see what was covered?
Best wishes,
Gabrielle

Find out what your insurance will cover. It did not cover my u/s monitoring but covered my bloodwork and part of my meds. So, every cycle I did cost about $600 out of pocket for meds and u/s on top of the 29K.

It was worth EVERY penny !!!!!
