Is 28 okay?
Also,
does it matter how many eggs in the past they produced and were frozen or does it truly vary cycle to cycle? Also, what would YOU be looking for in how many eggs a clinic normally freezes?

Thanks!

Our donor was 28 but I think they typically like them to me younger.
She was a first time donor and they retrieved 28 eggs 18 were mature. We transferred 3 and I think we ended up with 10 to freeze.

I have 2 beautiful twin boys as a result.

Good Luck

I always thought younger would be better but our first donor was 21 and produced only 5 mature eggs. Our second/third---we used her 2x---- was 30 and the first time she produced 29 mature eggs the first time and the second time she only produced 9 mature eggs. Our 4th donor will be 27 in the fall and I think she produced about 18 mature eggs......funny, it was the most recent cycle and I don't remember. So, does age matter----I honestly cannot tell you.

Sarah,

The response to meds truly varies from cycle to cycle.

After struggling with infertility, we welcomed our son Noah on March 18, 2010! Formerly a teacher, I am now a breastfeeding, babywearing, stay at home Mom, and I couldn't love it any more!

Our donor was 29. I don't know how many eggs she produced the first two times, but because she was so prolific, our clinic recommended we split her third (and final) cycle with another anonymous couple. She produced 28 eggs. We received 14, 11 were injected,

My Donor was 27. She produced 12 eggs and we got 8 blasts. We transferred one...I really didn't want twins (I'm due in 3 weeks) and have 7 on ice. I'm not sure age matters as much as previous cycles/or other screening tests they can do (day 3 FSH/ clomid challenge test).
