I am so sorry about your boyfriend. this must be very difficult for you both to go through. I have not done egg sharing but I think you should call your local fertility clinics in your area and ask them if they do it. I think a few girls here have done it. I some what do egg sharing but it's with donor eggs. We are in a program that splits one donors eggs between 3 couples that need them. Perhaps you could split your own eggs with 2 other couples and they would cover the costs of your treatment ??? just a thought.
Many hugs to you on your journey !!!! may God bless you and keep you and your boyfriend.
First of all, welcome to this board!
I just wanted to try to chime in on your situation!
My BF will be out of surgery later today and we will know the prognosis. I have an appointment for consultation Friday March 7 at the local fertility clinic. I found out that they don't even do egg donation there, but IUI is not too expensive. The sperm prep is $200 and $200 for one insemination. There are extras for fertility drugs, initial blood tests etc... It should come out under $1000, which I believe I can handle.
There will be some hard choices, though. I think the doc might not want to use any drugs, due to concerns about multiples. On the other hand, there is a limited amount of pre-chemo sperm. (I also contacted the bank for a copy of the full report of amount, motility, etc...) And another issue...I'm just off the pill and haven't had a normal cycle yet. I went on the pill at 14 for severe cramps so I don't remember what my real cycles are like. It's possible that I might have my own fertility problems anyway, which is very scary.
It's going to be hard to wait for my appt.
