Finally starting!

My wife and I FINALLY got married (technically a civil union here in Jersey but a marriage to us) last weekend and then of course I got my period after the only 30 day cycle of my entire life (I have PCOS and have been having 45 day cycles for the past several months in a row, which is remarkably regular for me). As a result, we weren't able to start the Clomid and injectables for this cycle in time because our next RE appointment isn't until October 5th, which would have been the day before my AF was SUPPOSED to arrive, thus giving me time to fill the prescription before CD 3. So now we are waiting for the next cycle to begin so we can do our first donor insemination! I am a little upset that we had yet another delay in this incredibly long wait to begin officially trying but I know it is good in a way because we are moving in a few weeks and now I definitely won't be pregnant for the move. Good for the diminished amount of stress but bad because I will now have no excuse to avoid the heavy lifting! Mostly we are both just over the moon excited that it is all finally happening after many years of planning and waiting and health problems and more waiting. I know it will probably be very difficult to get pregnant and may take a very long time but I think it will help tremendously to know that we are actually doing something to make a pregnancy happen and not just waiting and wishing and dreaming. Hoping for good luck though. I hope you all are doing well and would love any advice those of you who have undergone donor insemination may have for a young couple just starting out. :D

Congrats and good luck!

It's definitely a bummer that you have to wait another cycle, but I'm glad there's a silver lining for you.

Congratulations Lauren! I know all about the waiting. I have been waiting to start my donor egg cycle since April- our first two donors didn't work out before we could even start and now we are on donor #3 waiting for confirmation. Then it will be waiting for her to get her tests done, waiting to synce up, waiting for the stims, waiting, waiting waiting! It's a bummer! But at least you will get to start in a month- and the time will fly by and it will be here before you know it! You'll be busy and distracted with the move so that will help too. I also try to read, cook and watch a lot of movies- helps to keep your mind off of things. Lots of luck!
