I always have known that we will tell our child that we did donor eggs.

I'm going to get a couple books that deal with it at a basic level. Xyandme.com has books for a bunch of different scenarios including donor egg. And I think "mommy did I grow in your tummy" or something to that effect is another. I haven't bought one yet but I read the xyandme book online the other day.

Like Spencer, plan on books as well. I have started to tell him his story already, just for practice. We also read a Dave of mine, Horton hatches an egg, for practice too. Horton sits on the egg for the bird and when it's born, it's an elephant bird...he got to give the egg something and got a little baby. Love that one!

This is a great topic and already on my mind too. We don't plan to tell anyone in our families. We just are going with the thought that it will be the child's story to tell when he/she is an adult but we want the child to know and understand at age 7 or so. We'll probably prime him/her with open ideas about what is a family and where do babies come from with books and comments over the years leading up to that I guess. We had to have a psych meeting before we could move to donor and she said the books out there are all very good. you all telling/told your family??

We've only told my parents and brother in the family about DE. We want the peanut to own his story and tell whoever he wants when he's older. What is funny is that my three family members have all forgotten about DE at this point.

Our situation is a little different because our DD is adopted and we are doing DE with DD's Birth mom so our children will be bio siblings.

Thanks to spencer's idea, we did a pic of DS on the anniversary of ET day with his embies. Both of the embies we transferred were the same number of cells so who knows which one became DS. It is a cool picture but we also thought it would help make a connection for him later.
