New to the board!

Hi there! I am new here and just wanted to introduce myself.

I started in March of 2009 making sure that my body was ready and able to conceive. I am 26 years old and have been with my partner for a little over 4 years. At the end of March I was given the all clear by my doctor. I felt that it was necessary to go through all of this testing since I was diagnosed with endometriosis (I have heard that it can cause infertility.) back in March of 2006; I had a laparoscopy done and all of the endometriosis was removed. We decided in August that we were completely ready. We chose our donor through CCB and started monitoring my cycles. In September I went in for ultrasounds on days 11, 14, and 16. On day 14 my follicles were still too small and by day 16 they had ruptured. My doctor decided to start me on Clomid for days 3-7 of my next cycle and bring me in on day 21 for a progesterone check. This was all for October. For November we followed the same regimen going in for an ultrasound on day 10. My follicles were the perfect size. The problem came in with day 10 falling on the day before Thanksgiving and my doctor being sure that they would rupture before Monday. So we opted to try at home insemination for our first cycle. We had the donor semen delivered on Saturday and did it in the comfort of our own home. Now all that is left to do is wait with crossed fingers and praying hearts.

We are praying for our miracle. If there is any advice that anyone out there has I would be very appreciative. One question that I do have is how do you all get through the waiting period from insemination (or sexual activity) to knowing if it took or not?

Thanks,

Thank you so much for the advice. Those are the types of things that I have been trying to keep myself busy with. I also have work and school (until Dec 8th) to keep me busy. Just hoping that this time flies back and with a little luck maybe this one cycle will get the job done. Again, thank you so much.

Welcome! I will soon be in the 2WW myself and I know it's maddening! I agree that you need to find something to keep yourself busy even though you'll still be wondering every minute of every day if you are pregnant. The board is great for being able to vent your feelings because we've all been there! Just try to take it day by day and think positively that you will be getting your BFP very soon!

Good luck!
