Hi Everybody,

I am in the process of artificial insemination with donor sperm. I'm 38 and single and am sooo happy I am going forward with this- I've been thinking about it for a long long time. I go Friday for day 21 bloodwork- so far my uterus and fallopian tubes have passed the test and my folacles were at 19 on day 10 I think it was (too many numbers lol). Hopefully this test will show I've ovulated. If I have, I'm assuming we wait till next cycle for the insemination right? I'm trying to be positive without getting tooooo excited- is it best to assume it wont' work the first time then you're not as let down?

Thanks :-)

Yes, if you've already ovulated, you will wait until next cycle to start. My understanding is that if everything is just right with your cycle, you have about the same chance of getting pregnant with DIUI as "normal", which is about 20-25%. I'm not sure if your age will factor in. Best of luck and welcome to the process! I'm on DIUI #3.
